Training in Europe helps USA cyclists prepare for international competition

USA cyclists benefit from developmental program in Europe

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Monday was the first day of individual competition at the World Cycling Championships in Richmond. After a dominating showing by the Americans in the Women's Junior Time Trial, Daniel Eaton and Greg Daniel hit the roads for the Men's Under 23 Time Trial

Eaton and Daniel are used to high levels of competition. Both have taken part in USA Cycling's developmental program in Europe. Younger riders spend a summer racing and training with the best athletes in the sport, in hopes that being around top-level talent will help them improve.

Both American's competing in Monday's race said they've benefited greatly from taking part in the program.

Eaton finished 10th in the time trial, while Daniel finished 19th. Click on the video player to view the entire story.
