RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

It's become a tradition for Apple to debut their new products in September.  If the past is any indicator, electronic shoppers across the board are about to get a huge price break.

The Apple iPhone revenue alone is about twice as much as Google and about 10 times as much as Facebook.  So when they announce a new iPhone, it affects everything else that is going on in the smartphone world, as well as the tech world.

Brent Shelton has been analyzing retail trends and online shopping behavior for 17 years.  He says he's expecting to see at least a $100 discount on last year's models of iPhones and iPads.

"That causes the competitors to drop their prices in order to get some of that market where people may be upgrading," Shelton says.

Just like the iPhone, the new Apple T.V. with Siri should trigger the rest of the streaming television market to go on sale in the next few weeks.

"Rokus, anything that's going to try to compete with the new Apple T.V., obviously, those prices are going to come down," Shelton adds.

Shelton says the price of older Apple T.V. models should come down to under $50.

Also, back to school sales have brought laptop prices down, but there is a good chance they will drop even further starting next month.

"The iPad Pro is going to be available in October, which is well before Black Friday," Shelton says.  "Competing prices are going to come down way before Black Friday and Cyber Monday."

Shelton also says the iPad Pro will stir the 2-in-1 laptop market to lower the cost in order to compete.
