RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Two restaurants are featured in this week's NBC12 Restaurant Report for violations on their health inspections. One of them had more than twenty violations when an inspector stopped by and were told to get them fixed.
It happened, according to health inspection records, at Hondo's Prime steakhouse, located at 4120 Cox Road in Henrico. It had six critical violations, plus 18 non-critical violations. Among them, the report says a rack of clean dishes was stored on the floor, and the interior of the ice machine had slime growth. The inspector noted some violations were corrected on the spot, but noted there were "too many violations" and they need to have them fixed by October 31st.
Also, China Buffet at 200 Southgate Square in Colonial Heights had 4 critical violations. Violations include harborage conditions and fruit flies. When China Buffet was re-inspected two weeks later, the inspector wrote that two critical violations for food temperatures were repeated, but the fruit fly problem was gone. The next week, the report shows everything was fixed, except for some broken floor tiles.
