VCU Rams Basketball schedule includes NYC, Atlanta trips

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The VCU Rams basketball schedule released Thursday includes at least 20 nationally televised conference games in Head Coach Will Wade's first season leading the men's team.

The Rams are coming off their fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance and the Atlantic 10 Championship. The season starts on Nov. 6 with a home game against California University (PA), followed by two more games at the Siegel Center against Prairie View A&M and Radford.

The team then head to New York City for the 2K Classic against Duke and either Georgetown on Wisconsin on ESPN2  Other highlights include a trip to Atlanta to play Florida State and Georgia Tech in December, a Thanksgiving Weekend home matchup against Old Dominion University, and a Jan. 16 and Feb. 19 games against the University of Richmond, the second at the Siegel Center.

"Our fans do an unbelievable job of creating one of the best home court advantages in the country," Coach Wade said. "It's a credit to them and our players for bringing this type of exposure to this great university and our program."
