DINWIDDIE, VA (WWBT) - One person was killed in a box truck crash on Interstate 85 north on Monday afternoon in Dinwiddie, according to Virginia State Police.
The truck crashed around 3:15 p.m. near mile marker 44, not far from the Brunswick line, according to investigators.
Troopers say that it appears the truck was in the right lane of I-85 when it ran off the road, then over-corrected and overturned, coming to a rest on the right shoulder and ditch line.
The male driver was partially ejected and died at the scene. A passenger in the truck with him was uninjured. Investigators say both people were wearing their seatbelts.
Fatigue is being considered a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
