Fundraiser for Chesterfield man killed during motorcycle ride

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Family and friends of a Chesterfield father killed in a horrific semi crash are getting together for a fundraiser in his honor.

Beer Thirty bar and grill is hosting the event Thursday night.

Loved ones and friends of Ken Jefferson will be gathering at Beer Thirty to celebrate his memory and accept donations.

Jefferson is a father of four, grandfather and very passionate biker. His friends say he often organizing rides for charity.

He passed doing what he loved on Sunday morning. He and his motorcycle club were riding on I-85 in North Carolina when they pulled over on the side of the highway. A semi-truck driver, likely asleep at the wheel according to reports, veered off the road and struck the group.

Jefferson and another victim died. Several others were injured.

Jefferson leaves behind his four daughters and eleven grandchildren.

The fundraiser is from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Many in the biking community are expected to turn out.
