Ashland PD charge two in gas station robbery

ASHLAND, VA (WWBT) - Ashland Police Department have charged two Richmond individuals in connection to the robbery of a gas station along Washington Highway.

The robbery occurred Sunday, July 12 in the 500 block of South Washington Highway at the Liberty Market Gas Station. The suspect walked into the store wearing a mask, a hooded shirt and holding a small handgun. He robbed the store clerk of an undisclosed amount of money.

Ashland Police have identified that man as 31-year-old Antonio Savage of Richmond. Warrants for robbery and the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony were obtained for Savage.

Warrants for conspiracy to commit robbery and grand larceny were also obtained for 32-year-old Wendy Novak of Richmond.

Both Savage and Novak are currently being held at the Pamunkey Regional Jail.
