Barber Foods recalls 1.7M pounds of chicken nationwide

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Barber Foods is recalling over 1,700,000 pounds of frozen, raw stuffed chicken products that may be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis, according to the Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Two more case-patients have been identified since the original recall on July 2. The recall is labeled as Class I, a "health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death."

The chicken products were produced between February 17, 2015 and May 20, 2015. FSIS says, although the products appear to be cooked, these products are in fact uncooked (raw).

The product is sold at Kroger, Farm Fresh, Martin's, and Walmart.
