12 Investigates: Creative crooks' tricks exposed

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

On average, four homes are broken into in the Richmond-area every single day. Even more disturbing, those burglars are constantly evolving their tactics, finding new ways to get inside and steal from you and your family.

A burglar unlocked the front door of a Memphis home through the mail slot, reports WMCTV.com. ADT District Sales Manager Stephane Alexandre. told our sister-station creative crooks are the new norm.

For every one creative crook, there are a dozen more who take the easy way in. Thirty-four percent come through the front door. Once inside, the master bedroom is the first target, followed by the home office, living room and dining room.
