RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond police say nine people, including several children, were injured in a head-on crash on Jahnke Road Wednesday evening.
The crash happened after 6 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Jahnke and Spruance roads. According to police, a westbound Buick collided with an eastbound Toyota, sending the Toyota into a ditch and the Buick into the front yard of a home along Jahnke Road.
The driver of the Toyota received serious but non-life-threatening injuries, but police said the remainder of the injuries sustained were all minor.
Both drivers were female, but police did not release their identities. There were also several children in the Buick, police said. Investigators are looking into the ages of the children, whether any were required to be in child seats and if any of them were.
Richmond police say the driver of the Buick has been charged with reckless driving, driving while license suspended or revoked, and two child seat violations. The driver's name has not been released yet.
