RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Washington Redskins will host the Houston Texans at training camp in Richmond from August 6 through 8.
The team announced Monday that the joint practice sessions will be open and free to the public.
NBC12 Sports Director Marc Davis expects the event to be a circus; the training camp coincides with the Texans' featured appearance on HBO's award-winning sports series, "Hard Knocks."
According to the Redskins, last season, more than 60,000 fans visited the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center during three days of the Redskins' joint practices with the New England Patriots.
Richmond Mayor Dwight C. Jones called the dual workouts "a clear benefit of our state-of-the-art training facility. Welcoming the Houston Texans to Richmond, Virginia for practice sessions with the Washington Redskins is thrilling."
Times and details for each session will be announced at a later date. All other training camp dates will be released at a later time.
The teams do not meet in the regular season.
