RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond police are asking for help finding a woman who dropped her daughter off at day care on Wednesday and hasn't been seen since.
Police say Katasha Johnson may be in danger and didn't disappear on her own accord. The 26-year-old dropped her daughter off at a day care center on Richmond north side on Wednesday morning and was due to work at a bakery. Police say when she didn't show up there her boss called her other job the Dollar General store on Airport Drive in Henrico. But the manager says they had not seen her either. Her car, a gold-colored, four-door 2001 Volvo, was found, but no one has seen Johnson.
Johnson, who lives in the 1300 block of Jennie Scher Road, is a black female, 5'1", 120 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. On her right arm is a tattoo: MYA. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and tan slacks, according to police.
Neighbors say they are praying for her safe return. "It's heartbreaking baby I swear,' says Betty Shands who lives across the hall from Johnson. "Please let her go. Please let her go, it's not worth it. Let her come home to her children. The children needs their mother and regardless of whatever you think is going through your mind, whatever is wicked, nothing is that bad, bring her home to her children."
Anyone with information about Katasha Johnson's disappearance is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
