School's almost out for a lot of kids, but do you know what you're going to do with them? This week for RVA Parenting, we're looking at free and low cost ways to keep your kids busy.
Several movie theaters have very low cost movies. There are also days you can go to the museum for as little as 15 cents.
Also, consider volunteering together. It can make for some fun memories, and a valuable lesson. There are a number of free parks, concerts, and play areas. Plus, you can always make the ordinary, just a little bit more fun.
Margaret Thompson with Richmond Family Magazine says make a bucket list of fun things to do all summer with your kids, then work on marking those goals off!
"Don't forget the simple things like catch fireflies and pick honeysuckle, Maybe put the sprinkler out and run through it? My kids did that on Sunday," said Thompson.
Also, consider cooking together as a family. Or even using household materials to build forts.
Many of you shared great tips, too- so we check them out on our Facebook page!
