CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - The Board of Supervisors in Chesterfield will consider plans to add cameras to all county school buses.
They will look at the plan when they meet Wednesday afternoon. If approved, the cameras would automatically generate tickets for drivers who pass buses while they are stopped.
During the first pilot program in December 2013, they noted 216 violations in a 32-day period.
One Chesterfield mom says the cameras could mean the difference between life and death. She credits some good Samaritans on the scene and cameras on the bus for helping bring a driver who hit her two children to justice.
