RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond police are investigating three shootings in the last several hours that left two people dead and several more hospitalized. So far, no arrests have been made.
Chief Durham says people need to speak up and tell police what they know.
Nearly a dozen police cars swarmed 1900 Redd Street, when officers in the area heard shots fired. One person was dead within the Mosby Court Housing Community, while two other were taken to VCU Medical Center for treatment.
One victim was in surgery with doctors operating on his back, while another was shot in the leg. All three victims are in their 20s.
Chief Durham says police need help in finding who did this.
"It's really sad, the community should be upset and we just impress upon the community you have to talk, you have to say something, and we know there were a lot of people out here," said Durham.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released, and no arrests have been made.
In addition to that triple shooting, there were also two separate shootings, just three miles apart. One man is dead, another injured, and at least one home was sprayed with bullets.
In the first shooting, a man was shot and killed in the parking lot of Family Dollar on Midlothian Turnpike. Less than two hours later, another shooting at Stockton and Spaine streets left a man critically hurt. A man's home was sprayed with bullets, and a woman inside narrowly escaped the gun fire.
