BALTIMORE, MD (WWBT) - Prosecutors filed charges against six Baltimore Police officers on Friday in connection with Freddie Gray's death.
The police officers face several charges, including second-degree murder, in connection with the death of Freddie Gray, the State's Attorney announced on Friday morning.
The Medical Examiner ruled Gray's death a homicide and the state's attorney says Gray's arrest was illegal. A knife, not a switchblade, was found clipped to Gray's pants pocket and was legally in his possession, according to the state's attorney.
Meanwhile, the police union has asked the state's attorney to appoint a special independent prosecutor for the case.
