Fatal shooting of Richmond teen ruled self-defense

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Richmond Police Department, in consultation with the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, has ruled the fatal shooting of Alex Jackson in Creighton Court in March as justified.

Police said after a thorough and complete investigation, they determined that the fatal shot was fired in self-defense. The adult male who shot Jackson will not be charged.

A second adult male, who suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound in the incident, has been released from the hospital.

At around 12:20 a.m. March 27, Richmond police officers were called to the 2100 block of Creighton Road for a report of a shooting. They found Jackson's body lying on the ground outside a home.
