VSU student's carjacking under investigation

PETERSBURG, VA (WWBT) -

Virginia State University police, along with Chesterfield and Petersburg police, are searching for a stolen car after a VSU student reported someone had taken his keys and his car at gunpoint.

In an e-mail, VSU said campus police received a call around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday about a possible armed robbery on campus. When officer arrived, the university's statement said a VSU student told police someone had stolen his car keys and his car at gunpoint.

Police are searching for a 1999 burgundy Lincoln Continental, with Virginia license plates reading XBR-1551.

VSU said anyone with information that could help investigators can call the university's police department or local authorities.
