VCU officially announces Will Wade as head coach

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Will Wade will be the next head coach of the VCU men's basketball team. VCU will officially introduce Wade at a press conference on Wednesday.

Wade is a former assistant under Shaka Smart. and head coach of UT Chattanooga head coach. He was Smart's first assistant hire in 2009 and was on the Rams' staff until 2013. Wade departed to take the Mocs' head coaching job after the 2012-2013 season and led them for two seasons, putting together a 40-25 record and earning 2014 Southern Conference Coach of the Year honors.

The press conference will be held at 11 a.m. at the Siegel Center and is open to the public. Fans are encouraged to attend.
