RPD releases images of suspect in E. Main St. attack

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond Police have released images from security camera footage showing a suspect wanted in connection to a stabbing incident Tuesday on East Main Street.

Police described the suspect as a black male in his early 20s with a light complexion. He is 5'9" to 5'10" tall with an athletic build, and has short, black curly hair. At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing white pants and a dark-colored shirt.

The attack happened around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 1500 block of East Main Street, where police said the female victim had been walking when the suspect grabbed her and threatened her with a knife. She was cut on the arm when she broke away from the suspect, police said. The suspect then ran across East Main Street headed south toward the river.

The victim received treatment at a local hospital for injuries that were not considered life threatening.
