Prince George PD: Suspects in custody following police chase

PRINCE GEORGE, VA (WWBT) - Prince George authorities said two suspects are in custody after an investigation into possible drug activity led to a police chase Monday afternoon.

According to police, officers were investigating possible drug activity in the 12000 block of South Crater Road when two suspects fled from police. Officers were speaking with the two men in a car, when one suspect ran from the car and the other sped off in the car.

Authorities said the fleeing vehicle almost struck one of the officers as the suspect drove off. Police chased the suspect vehicle for 20 minutes, authorities said, until finally stopping the suspect in Hopewell.

Police recovered cocaine and marijuana from the suspects.

Walter Howard Tucker was charged with possession of a controlled substance, eluding police, driving with a suspended license, hit and run, and destruction of property. Darius Hogan was charged with possession with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana.
