RPD: Victim in Sunday shooting has died

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The man found Sunday by Richmond police suffering from multiple gunshot wounds has died, authorities said Monday.

David Briggs, 28,  of the 3400 block of Frank Road in Richmond, died Monday from injuries he received Sunday in a shooting in the 2100 block of Bradford Road, in the Davee Gardens community.

Police said Briggs's death marks the fifth homicide in Richmond in 2015.

Police are still searching for three suspects seen fleeing from the scene of the shooting Sunday afternoon.

The shooting, reported around 1:40 p.m. Sunday in the intersection of Deerwood and Bradford Roads in the Davee Gardens community. Officers took Briggs to VCU Medical Center, where he was initially listed in critical condition.

Police are looking for an older model silver or gray Chevrolet Impala that was carrying three males seen leaving the scene of the shooting. Anyone with information can call Major Crimes Det. Joseph Fultz at 804-646-3929 or Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
