RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Capitol Police recovered evidence on Monday of shots fired at the James Monroe Building, location of some state offices, over the weekend.
Capitol Police said they recovered evidence from a Department of Accounts office on the second floor and a Department of Treasury office on the fourth floor. Both offices are on the south side of the building at 101 N. 14th St. Capitol Police said window glass in both offices had been penetrated.
No injuries were reported in the incident, which Capitol Police said happened sometime over the weekend while the office building was unoccupied. Anyone with information about the shooting can call 804-786-2120.
The Monroe Building, at 30 stories, is the tallest building in the Richmond skyline, and home to around 1,000 state employees.
