HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Virginia State Police say a man was killed and three others injured in a crash on Interstate 295 south earlier this week.
Police say Juan W. Flores Orellana was killed when the van he was driving ran off the road and hit a tree on Thursday around 2:06 p.m. near mile marker 46. Troopers say weather and speed caused the crash and believe the Manassas man was driving at a speed that was unsafe for road conditions.
The driver and three passengers were taken to VCU Medical Center. Orellana later died from his injuries, while the other three passengers are expected to survive. None was wearing a seatbelt.
