Yes, it is hard to believe that Hillary Clinton, the Secretary of State of the United States of America, used her own personal email account to conduct private and official government business from 2009-2013.
What was she thinking? It is hard to believe that Secretary Clinton did not know that this was inappropriate and may have placed the government at risk. There are reports that not only did she use a private email account, but that she has a private server in her home.
The other question that everyone has to be asking is who else knew and approved that this was an appropriate option for any member of the government, and particularly someone in the State Department. A spokesperson from the State Department said there is no prohibition against this practice. I know Federal government employees who have two devices because they want to keep their private emails separate from official government emails.
Of course, this will be a huge distraction as Clinton prepares to officially announce her candidacy to become President of the United States.
Hillary, what were you thinking?
