CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - A 91-year-old was killed when his car hit a front porch then crashed into a tree, Chesterfield Police said Monday.
The Friday crash killed James Carpenter not far from his home in the 11200 block of Old Lewiston Road on Friday, police said.
Carpenter entered a driveway, then crossed the home's snowy front yard and sidewalk before hitting the porch and striking the tree head-on, according to investigators.
A woman in the car was taken to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Right now, there is no update on her condition.
Police are still investigation into this crash, but say neither of the vehicle's occupants was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
