HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Investigators are trying to figure out what caused a fire at a North Henrico apartment complex.
Crews arrived around 1:18 p.m. Saturday to the 5600 block of Crenshaw Road and saw smoke coming from the front of the building. They then located a small fire inside the apartment. This was marked under control around 1:59 p.m.
The apartment where the fire originated was the only apartment to suffer fire and smoke damage. The adjoining two apartments suffered minor smoke damage. Occupants in the apartment were alerted to the fire in the apartment by a working smoke detector. All occupants in the apartment were able to make it out of the apartment building uninjured.
One adult and one child will be displaced for a short period of time due to the fire. The Fire Marshall's Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
