RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Richmond Fire investigators are working to determine what caused a massive house fire on the Northside early Friday morning.

The home on Lamb Avenue near Dove Street was engulfed in flames when the call came in around 6:30 a.m. Within minutes fire crews were on scene, but had to battle the flames from outside because the fire was so intense.

Shortly afterwards, crews went inside to search the home. One of the homeowners said three people live at the home. One was not at the home during the time of the fire, another was injured but made it out safely. It wasn't clear whether the third occupant was home, but fire officials now say he has been seen by others since the blaze and is fine.

The fire caused a partial roof collapse and damaged the siding of a nearby home.

The fire was marked under control at 7:21 a.m.
