RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - VCU and Richmond will meet on the basketball court for the second time this season on Wednesday night, this time at the Robins Center. The Spiders will be looking for two wins against their arch rival in the same season for the first time since 2001.
The Rams have gotten back on track since a bump in the road where the lost three of four. VCU has three straight wins, most recently a six point triumph over UMass at the Siegel Center. Shaka Smart's club is 21-6, 11-3 in the Atlantic 10, and tied with Rhode Island for the league lead.
Richmond also appears to be finding its stride, having won two in a row. The Spiders took down George Washington this past Saturday to improve to 15-12, 8-6 in conference play.
Both teams seem to be comfortable in the environment they'll face on Wednesday. VCU is 8-2 in true road games, while Richmond is 12-3 on its home court.
Tip-off is set for 7:00pm on Wednesday.
