St. Christopher's advances in Prep League tournament

St. Christopher's cruises in Prep League playoffs

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - After a week that has seen snow, ice and frozen temperatures, the Richmond area got its first dose of 2015 high school playoff basketball on Thursday evening.

The Prep League tournament tipped off, with St. Christopher's hosting Woodberry Forest, and the Saints dominated. Nic Sherod scored 17 points and pulled down 15 rebounds, while Alex Petrie added 16 points and Fleet Wallace chipped in eleven, as St. Christopher's tamed the Tigers, 53-30. They improve to 20-6 on the season.

The Saints' defense clamped down in the first half, holding Woodberry to just one first quarter point and ten points in the first half.

St. Christopher's will take on St. Anne's Belfield in the semifinals at 1:00pm on Saturday at Trinity.

Elsewhere, Collegiate saw its season come to an end with a 55-33 loss to Fork Union.
