Five Spiders score in double figures, fueling win at St. Bonaventure

OLEAN, NY (WWBT) - –Richmond used a full team effort to run past St. Bonaventure on the road, 71-56, on Wednesday night at the Reilly Center.

Five different Spiders reached double figures for the first time this season as the Spiders (14-12, 7-6) swept the season series against the Bonnies (13-11, 6-7).

The Spiders built a 32-23 lead at halftime and then responded to a 13-2 second-half SBU run with a ferocious 14-0 run that put the Spiders ahead for good.

Junior Terry Allen recorded his second double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds. 13 of his points came in the second half as he grabbed three offensive boards and converted them into points.

Classmate Deion Taylor had a breakout game as well, scoring a season-high 11 points with two three-pointers and three free throws. He also grabbed five boards and had a career-high four steals.

Sophomore ShawnDre' Jones continued his hot shooting with a 5-of-7 performance from the field (2-of-3 from three) to finish with a game-high 17 points. Kendall Anthony joined him in double figures with a 10-point, five-assist game, while T.J. Cline hit four three-pointers en route to a 14-point game.

The Spiders shot 50 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from long range, reaching 70 points for the seventh time in conference play. As impressive as Richmond's offensive production was, the Spiders' defense was stout against a talented Bonnies squad, especially without Alonzo Nelson-Ododa for the third game.

Youssou Ndoye scored 12 points with 10 rebounds, but he also committed three turnovers and had four fouls. Leading scorer Marcus Posley was held scoreless for the first half and he finished with just nine points on a 4-of-13 shooting day.

The Spiders forced 19 turnovers on a season-high 11 steals, converting turnovers into 21 points. In two games against the Bonnies, Richmond held them to 3-of-23 from three-point land.

Richmond returns home this weekend for a 4 p.m. game against George Washington.
