HIGHLAND SPRINGS, VA (WWBT) - You'd have to look pretty hard to find a girl's basketball team in the entire country that has been as dominating as Highland Springs has this season.
The Springers are 22-0, have an average margin of victory of 49 points and the closest any team has come to them is 15 points. They've eclipsed the 100 point mark seven times during the regular season.
Franklin Harris and company are the top seed in Conference 11 and will open postseason play against a to-be-determined opponent on Wednesday. While this team looks like a favorite to win a state championship, Harris and his players are not thinking about that particular prize at this point in the playoffs.
Harris says he's preached all season to focus on one game at a time, one practice at a time, one day at a time. He says every player has bought in and they never ask what's down the road, just about what's immediately in front of them. Harris says that's the big key in the Springers' success this year, not only the philosophy, but the players actually practicing that philosophy.
