The Chesterfield man seriously injured when police used a Taser on him to subdue him received burns over 85 percent of his body, his family said.

Miles Z. November remains in critical condition after the chase, crash and ensuing struggle early Saturday morning. Police have now obtained warrants against November, 26, for driving after forfeiture of license and eluding police.

Police attempted to stop November on suspicion of DUI in the 7200 block of Jefferson Davis Highway, but say he sped off before losing control of the car. The car rolled several times, trapping him inside.

Officers and firefighters got November out of the car, but he continued to struggle and an officer used his Taser. The jolt set his clothes on fire, possibly due to the clothing coming in contact with gasoline during the crash. The clothes were extinguished and November was taken to VCU Medical Center.

The police officer who discharged his Taser is on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.
