CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (WWBT) - Nelson County prosecutors say DNA tests show no link between the suspect in the murder of Hannah Graham and the victim in a similar murder case, Alexis Murphy.
The DNA tests found no link between Jesse Matthew and the Nelson County teen, according to the Commonwealth's Attorney.

Randy Taylor was convicted in Murphy's death, but in September his attorney asked prosecutors to compare DNA found in her car with Jesse Matthew's profile. Murphy's body has never been found and Taylor has maintained his innocence. Prosecutors have said they didn't think there was a credible connection between Matthew and Murphy.
"Randy Taylor was the last known person to have had contact with Alexis Murphy on August 3, 2013 shortly before she went missing," said Nelson County Commonwealth's Attorney Anthony Martin in a press release. "All of the physical evidence at trial showing a violent struggle was located inside Randy Taylor's camper."

Matthew's DNA was also compared to evidence from inside Taylor's camper and his SUV and was also not a match. Prosecutors say the test results further confirm their earlier conclusion that there "is no credible evidence linking Jesse Matthew to the abduction and murder of Alexis Murphy.
