RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Two Richmond Public School students were injured after their school bus and a car collided off Jefferson Davis Highway, according to school officials.

The bus was coming from Boushall Middle School when the crash took place on Terminal Avenue around 3:15 p.m. Police units and an ambulance are on the scene and it appears the car hit the back of the bus. The car was lodged partly underneath the bus.

School officials initially told NBC12 the students were taken to the hospital for their injuries, but now say they were not transported and were treated for only minor injuries. The pregnant woman who hit the bus was taken to the hospital, as a precaution.

Another school bus drove the rest of the students home. Some parents arrived to pick up their children from the scene. The driver of the car was charged with reckless driving for failure to maintain control of the vehicle.
