The Henrico and Highland Springs boys basketball teams both entered the night with just one loss. In the first of two regular season match-ups, it was the Warriors earning the early leg up in Conference 11.
Henrico used a late 8-0 run to pull ahead and slam the door on the Springers. The Warriors led 18-5 after the first quarter, but Highland Springs chipped away and cut the deficit to five by halftime, 27-22. The Springers would pull even and take the lead in the second half, but Henrico used the run to pull ahead for good and earn the 60-53 win.
Mills Godwin and Douglas Freeman met in one of the West End's fiercest rivalries. Clayton Leep hit the game-winner with 1.6 seconds to go on a putback to give the Rebels the 56-54 win.
Trinity and St. Christopher's tangled in a private school showdown, with the Titans prevailing, 62-57.
In the girls side, Henrico and Highland Springs both entered the night undefeated, but the Springers flexed their muscle, earning the 101-52 win. It marks the fifth time this year they've eclipsed the 100 point mark.
