New Kent authorities identify Iowa couple arrested for woman's abduction

NEW KENT, VA (WWBT) -

New Kent authorities have released the names of an Iowa couple taken into custody for the out-of-state kidnapping of a young woman.

Aldair Hoza and Laura Evelene Sorensen, both of Clive, Iowa, made an initial court appearance Wednesday in New Kent General District Court. Both are charged with one count of abduction with intent to defile. They are being held in jail pending their next court appearance, which will be a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled for Feb. 11.

Authorities said Hoza and Sorensen were arrested Tuesday after a truck driver notified the New Kent Sheriff's Office about suspicious activity at the Pilot truck stop on Route 106 near the Interstate 64/Talleysville interchange in New Kent.
