HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - The Democratic nominee for the Special Election on January 13 to fill the vacant 74th House District seat is Kevin Sullivan.
Sullivan will run for the seat previously held by Del. Joe Morrissey, who is in jail after entering an Alford plea to the charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones, chairman of the Democratic Party of Virginia, said in a statement:
"I congratulate Kevin Sullivan on earning the Democratic nomination for the open 74th House District seat in the special election on January 13. His experience in this community makes him is a strong fighter for our Democratic values and priorities, including investing in our future, keeping our communities safe and growing a new Virginia economy.
