The Richmond District of the U.S. Postal Service today announced that some Post Offices will offer customers the opportunity to drop off mail and packages to which postage has already been affixed on Sunday, December 21, 2014, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Please use the back dock area of the facility for drop off. Window Service and the Business Mail Entry Unit will not be open. Mail that you might ordinarily give to your carrier, place in a collection box, or have the carrier pick up can be dropped off. This will allow mail to be available for processing earlier resulting in earlier delivery as we count down the last days until the Christmas holiday. Again, this mail must already have postage applied to it for drop off. No employees will be available to weigh mail and affix postage.
The offices listed below offer Self-Service Kiosks where customers using a credit or debit card may weigh and purchase postage for mail intended for domestic destinations. These machines are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
