MIDDLESEX, VA (WWBT) - Middlesex County authorities have charged a high school student for bringing multiple firearms, knives, and rounds of ammunition onto school grounds.
Austin Martin, 18, was arrested without incident at Middlesex High School, authorities said. The K9 unit alerted on Martin's vehicle, where Sheriff's Office detectives found four loaded firearms, several knives and more than 600 rounds of ammunition.
Martin appeared before a magistrate and was released on $1,500 bond, although Middlesex authorities said additional charges against Martin are pending. Martin is no longer permitted on school property. His arraignment was originally scheduled for December 15 in Middlesex General District Court, but it was continued to January 5, 2015.
