Man arrested in Charlottesville double homicide

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (WWBT) - Charlottesville Police have arrested a man in connection to the

.

30-year-old Gene Everett Washington is charged with two counts of first degree murder in connection with the deaths of 58-year-old Robin Christine Aldridge, and 17-year-old Mani Viktoria Aldridge.

Robin and Mani were murdered in their home on Rugby Avenue on Friday.

Charlottesville Police and Fire units responded to the home around midnight Friday in reference to a fire. The bodies of Robin and Mani were found inside.

The investigation is continuing and any additional charges will be decided as the investigation moves forward. Washington will be held at the Charlottesville-Albemarle Regional Jail with no bond.
