HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Henrico Police have arrested a man they say is responsible for 39 burglaries across Henrico, Richmond and Chesterfield.
David Allen Williamson was arrested on November 24. Police say they were able to locate items from several burglaries at his home.
Police believe Williamson, 50, is responsible for 19 commercial burglaries in Henrico, 12 commercial burglaries in Richmond and 8 commercial burglaries in Chesterfield, beginning in October 2014. They say the method of entry and items targeted were similar in the burglaries.
Police first noticed consistencies in a string of commercial break ins in Henrico County. Authorities in Chesterfield and Richmond also had a similar pattern of crimes that matched those in Henrico.
It wasn't until November 6 that police located a man who was later identified as Williamson near where a recent burglary had taken place.
Court documents show Williamson broke into several properties throughout multiple jurisdictions as well as took personal property from several individuals including backpacks watches and cash valued at less than $200.
Arrest warrants detail four felony charges for Williamson in Henrico. Police searched Williamson's home with a warrant and found several of the items taken in some of the recent burglaries.
Authorities said they are are still building their case but use this as an example of what happens when area law enforcement work together.
According to the court documents, Williamson is expected to appear in court on these felony larceny charges during the first week in January.
