COLUMBIA, SC (WWBT) - As the VCU men's basketball team prepares to open its 2014-2015 season on Friday, it's future continues to look bright. Four-star recruit Tevin Mack of Dreher High School in Columbia, South Carolina, signed his National Letter of Intent to play at VCU on Thursday.
Mack chose the Rams over Connecticut, Clemson, Georgia and South Carolina. He is ranked as high as the 12th best small forward in the country. Mack is 6'7" and weighs 200 lbs.
The senior's decision to attend VCU is the latest example of how Smart has built the Rams into a national program. L.C. Bird senior Kenny Williams verbally committed to VCU during the summer, picking the school over several other big name programs, such as North Carolina.
Jordan Murphy of San Antonio, Texas, also committed to the VCU on Thursday, adding to the class of 2015.
