HIGHLAND SPRINGS, VA (WWBT) - One person suffered critical in juries in a crash that ripped a car was ripped in half in Highland Springs on Thursday morning.

Two cars crashed around 7 a.m. near the intersection of Nine Mile Road and Newbridge Road.

Two people were taken to VCU Medical Center by ambulance, one in critical condition, the other with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
