Dinwiddie, Thomas Dale put streaks on the line in Game of the Week

DINWIDDIE, VA (WWBT) - Dinwiddie and Thomas Dale have three losses between the two of them. Those three defeats came by a combined eleven points and in the first two weeks of the regular season. Since then, the Generals have won seven games in a row, the Knights six consecutive victories. One of those streaks will end on Friday night when the two teams meet in our On the Sidelines Game of the Week.

The Knights enters with a 6-2 record and are coming off a 27-6 win over Petersburg last week. They suffered two heart-breaking losses to open their season, falling 16-15 at Cosby, then losing 20-15 to L.C. Bird on a Hail Mary as time expired. Kevin Tucker's group has responded by winning six games in a row. The backfield of Eric Finney and Trent Williams marks the backbone of the offense.

Meanwhile, the Generals have exploded for seven consecutive wins after falling to Monacan, 18-13, to open their season. Billy Mills has seen his team tested its last two outings. Dinwiddie scored 21 fourth quarter points and overcame a 17-14 late deficit to top Hopewell, 28-17, this past Friday, and needed a late rally to squeak out a 28-24 win over Matoaca the week before.

The Generals have won three of the last four meetings in this series, including a 21-0 shutout victory in last year's meeting.
