Spiders prepare for Villanova, Robertson

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond has found a groove since losing to New Hampshire in its first CAA contest. The Spiders have won four straight games, and sit just one game back of first place in the conference.

One of the teams Danny Rocco and his club are chasing is Villanova, which visits Robins Stadium this Saturday. The Wildcats have been rolling, winners of seven straight games and are averaging 41.8 points per outing, which leads the CAA. Their offense is led by quarterback John Robertson, who is one of the best in the FCS. Robertson is among the conference leaders in rushing, is second in the league in total offense and first in passing efficiency.

Richmond has won two of the last three games in this series, including the last meeting in 2012. The Spiders are 6-2, 3-1 in the CAA. Michael Rocco will make his third straight start at quarterback for the injured Michael Strauss.

Kickoff is set for noon on Saturday at Robins Stadium. Click the video link to hear from Coach Rocco on trying to contain Robertson.
