Black Friday predictions: tablet, phone, TV deals

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Savings experts at Fatwallet.com think the hot item this Black Friday will be tablets, since several new versions that have just hit the market..

"All the older versions we're seeing drop down to below Black Friday prices right now," said online savings expert Brent Shelton.

Samsung's Galaxy Tab 3 should sell for less than $120. Because new smartphone and tablet models have been out for months, you can almost guarantee retailers will offer you incentives to buy them.

"If you were to buy a new iPhone 6 at Target, they're probably going to give you some kind of in-store gift card in order to discount that new phone," said Shelton. One prediction? A $100 gift card when you buy an iPad Air 2.

Something new to look out for this year is members' only exclusives. Signing up with a retailer early can get you discounts before the rest of the public.

"Amazon Prime right now is offering 30 minutes ahead of time access to their lightning deals and gold box deals for their prime members," explained Shelton. He expects many big box stores will follow suit giving members a jump on doorbusters and online deals.

Last year, the Xbox One and PS4 gaming systems were new and pricier. This year Fatwallet thinks the entire Xbox bundle will probably sell for $350 and the PS4 bundle for $400.

The Xbox 360 and the PS3 are going to be heavily discounted down to $9.99 for games and you'll probably be able to pick up an Xbox 360 console for $100.

Retailers sold a record number of TVs before the Superbowl and prices have been dropping ever since. Fatwallet thinks we'll pay even less this Black Friday, nabbing 50" TVs for less than $300 and smart TVs under $500. However, experts warn to be careful what you purchase.

"They build special models for Black Friday they have a few less features that why they can discount them quite a bit...the prices are good but there's usually limitations with those," said Shelton.
