RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Benedictine's Clelin Ferrell received his Under Armour All-American jersey during a ceremony at the school on Thursday afternoon. He's the second player from our area to earn the honor, along with St. Christopher's Garrett Taylor. It turns out the All-American nod is not the only thing the two players have in common.
Like Taylor, Ferrell suffered a torn ACL during the preseason and has not played during his senior season. The Benedictine senior will not participate in the game, but will still travel to Florida and take part in everything he can leading up to the January 2nd kickoff in St. Petersburg.
Ferrell will continue his football career at Clemson next fall. He says he hasn't given himself any sort of timetable when it comes to returning to football activities.
