RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - St. Christopher's senior cornerback Garrett Taylor isn't having the senior season he had envisioned. After tearing his ACL during preseason practice, Taylor has been sidelined as he recovers from the injury. Despite not being able to play, he's still being honored as one of the best high school football players in the country.
Taylor has been named an Under Armour All-American, and was presented with his jersey during a ceremony at St. Christopher's Wednesday morning. While he won't be able to play in the game, the senior will still make the trip to Florida for the January 2nd All-American game in St. Petersburg.
Taylor has committed to Michigan to continue his career at the next level, and he says he'll be able to resume football activities in February. He says his doctors said everything went well with his surgery and are positive about his recovery and rehab.
