RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond football has its eye on a fast start in the CAA, but will have to overcome the conference favorite in its league opener. New Hampshire visits Robins Stadium on Saturday, a team no member of the current Spider team has ever beaten.
The Wildcats are 1-1 on the season, after suffering a season-opening loss to Toledo. They are currently ranked as high as seventh nationally among FCS teams and have a three game winning streak in the series with Richmond.
The Spiders are 2-1 and are coming off a 42-17 win over Hampton this past Saturday. They're red hot, winners of six of their last seven games dating back to last season. This match-up with New Hampshire will feature two high-powered offenses at work.
Richmond head coach Danny Rocco says New Hampshire is unique in its styles and schemes, making them more of a different team than any other they see during the season.
Kickoff is set for 4:00pm on Saturday at Robins Stadium.
